Abstract
The rise of New Public Management has received substantial attention from scholars in the cultural policy field. Their findings show that in recent years public cultural management has been facing similar changes across many European countries. This paper contributes to this area of scholarship by presenting evidence from Poland which still remains an under-researched country as far as NPM is concerned. The analysis of Polish cultural policy enabled to detect symptoms of the pro-NPM transition. However, it seems like these changes have not significantly influenced the system of culture funding.
